We all have those clothes, shoes and accessories we never wear anymore. They just sit in our closets, dressers and wardrobes taking up space. Why not get rid of them and make some money? With the latest websites and apps, you can easily clean out your closet and fill up your wallet.

Poshmark

One of the easiest and most fun selling platforms is Poshmark. Similar to a social media site, Poshmark gives users the ability to ask about items and negotiate pricing. Download the app and you can start immediately posting any item for sale. Use your phone to take photos and enter a product description.  Poshmark hosts daily parties where you can promote your items based on category or style. After you sell your item, you receive 80% of the purchase price. For items under $15, there is a flat $2.95 selling rate. The best part is that Poshmark is heavily integrated with other social media. You can share your listings on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can also follow other user's closet and get a continuous feed of products fitting your sizes if you want to shop as well.

Twice

Twice is a great platform for selling your clothing and handbags. Once you gather up what you want to sell, print a pre-paid shipping label to mail your items in to be reviewed. You will receive an offer for your clothing within a week and can accept or deny the offer. You can also receive all of your clothing that wasn't accepted or you can choose to donate it. Note that only select brands are accepted. While you may not get as much money as some other websites, the selling process is very easy.

Thredup

If charity is something you're passionate about, Thredup might be the right platform for you. How does it work? Just order a Thredup bag, fill it up with items you no longer want and drop it off at the post office. Any items that are not accepted will be donated to charitable donations or textile recycling companies. You can even sell your clothing to fundraise for a great cause! A select portion of their profits go to Teach for America, and customers may also choose to donate a portion of their sales to the organization.

Tradesy

To get the biggest bang for your buck, sell your items on Tradesy. You get 91% of the final purchase price, which is far above other companies. All you have to do is list your item and wait for it to sell. Tradesy takes care of payment, provides shipping labels and handles returns. After your item sells and is delivered, you can get your cash through Paypal. It's simple, secure and quick!

Be sure to pick your favorite app or website and start cleaning out your closet and posting and promoting your listings. Now you know how to easily get rid of those old clothes and earn some extra cash. The best part is that you free your closet up to invest in some new clothing.
